Principled, not paid

In his Winning Post column Look Who’s Talking (15/5), Tony Rickards asserts: "Those jumps protesters — many of whom were paid to go to the ’Bool and make their presence felt, I believe ..."

Tony, it’s okay to disagree with our position on jumps racing. It’s not okay to suggest that we act not from principle but because we are paid. No person has ever been paid to oppose jumps racing.

The rumour that an American academic finances our campaign is so silly it had us laughing out loud — especially when everyone knows we get our money from al Qaeda.

Readers of the Winning Post, I am sure, devote themselves to many and varied just causes without pay. Same here.
