Could you please answer Rod Saunders’s question (28/8) on why all those top jockeys choose to ride in Hong Kong?
It’s a question that has puzzled me for quite a few years. The reason I’m puzzled is that 90 percent of Hong Kong horses have deplorable stats.
Every sportsman likes strong competition and it’s true that some of the best riders and trainers in the world arre there. But what always amazes me is how so many plunges come off on horses whose stats suggest victory is impossible.
Is it witchcraft?
That is what really puzzles me. It does indeed.
