Letter of the Week

No more from Adam

Honestly, Adam A. Barnett, the $12 million dollar clown from Carina (23/10), must think we readers were all foaled last spring. Recent big pre-race statements from this punting genius were that Speed Gifted, who couldn’t win at Coonabarabran, was the horse to beat in the Melbourne Cup, Slater was the big watch of the spring and Shocking was a sub-standard animal.

Last week, miraculously, post-race he claims to have backed Descarado and Monaco Consul in the Caulfield Cup.

As Mr Richard Callander would say, please. His fantasy is actually laughable. Does Adam of Carina understand that monopoly money is not legal currency?

Seriously, I think I speak for all readers when I ask the editors not to print any more of Adam’s garbage. Although we have all had a laugh, it’s time to move on. There are people who actually understand racing and like to read constructive articles. I am tired and bored of his psychological fantasia.

If Adam really thinks we readers believe his outlandish post-race claims of triumph or million-dollar empires then he should seek immediate help.
