My three gripes
I went to a couple of good meetings on the weekend of January 22-23 — Flemington (no charge) and Ballarat ($10). The family was going to Great Western originally but the $20 entry was ridiculous. Why are once-a-year racegoers the ones fleeced?
On another topic, Some of the morning-line markets on Radio Sport National are a complete joke. At Ballarat on January 23 La Fantastique was marked at $11, was backed from $2.60 to $2.00 and won accordingly.
Later we had a market (approximately 128 percent) that went up to $13 chances but did not include Lady Pachira. The mare won at $3.30 favourite after opening short on the tote.
Finally, can TVN’s Jason Richardson delete the word "indeed" from his summaries? It becomes monotonous when used five times, as happened when Kaymer salute at huge odds at Terang on January 24. Otherwise a good service on TVN.
