Predictable

I am absolutely over the totally predictable reaction from the media to the recent jumps fatality of Whatsourgo.

It’s long overdue for the racing industry to get serious and tell all these do-gooders to mind their own business.

Never mind the hundreds of other horses that continually race and trial and generally love it and return to their stable every night, a handful meet their unfortunate end and the call goes out to close down the industry again. Never mind the large number of horses that would be put down if jumping ended.

Never mind the hundreds, maybe thousands, of people that would be put out of work if such a closure occurred. Surely that should be the bottom line in this silly argument.

I’m also fed up with those employed in racing and the sports media that continually stick the daggers in — they should be the first to be keel-hauled.

If it’s at all possible could the anti-jumps racing journos climb down off their pay packets for a few months and actually support the industry they supposedly love (and that in some cases pays their wage). It would surely help the jumpers’ cause.
