Sow seed, reap jackpot

Who would guess that Tabcorp is in competition with Tatts for the punters’ dollar?

While Tabcorp spends many dollars promoting their "massive jackpots" of a piddling few hundred thousand with their new "sensational" product Big 6, Tatts is getting free advertising with its fair-dinkum jackpots, now up to $90 million! Competition? Hardly.

Shareholders and stakeholders in Tabcorp must start asking questions about the business acumen of those in charge of Tabcorp betting.

Tabcorp has the infrastructure and product potential to have even bigger jackpots than Tatts , but do not have the imagination to take Tatts head on with seeded jackpots for the Big 6 and the introduction of seeded, guaranteed jackpots for products such as a Lucky 7 mystery bet, based on pure luck for little outlay.

With the racing industry screaming out for new money, the Victorian public is screaming out just as loudly by saying, "Give us fair-dinkum jackpots and we will punt on them."

What more evidence does Tabcorp need than seeing Tatts’ huge jackpots displayed in all of the newspapers and television (for free) and large queues at Tatts agencies, to realise that Victorians will support winnable, simple and inexpensive lotto-type products with good jackpots?
