Further to Richard Callander’s article (5/3) re Sportsbet’s lack of intestinal fortitude when it came to betting on elections in Australia, I suggest punters get used to it. The European style of betting , where punters are not allowed to win, has descended upon Australia.
Also, I would like to congratulate John D. Nott on his rather humorous and insightful revelations about the plight of Australian racing when it comes to income from off-course betting shops.
I am still to see NSW racing increase its standard prizemoney from its so-called court victory. Instead of jumping to hasty and selfish attacks on RVL members, people should’ve realised that a conclusion to this saga is well and truly in the future — "further, not nearer".
