Build your own pool

So, the corporate bookies are putting caps on exotic dividends. Why is that? Is it because they don’t actually own the pools that create the dividends?

They’re actually poaching the dividends created by the TABs around the country. And sometimes they face big payouts.

I’ve always felt that the TABs had a great case for ownership of their markets and dividends through copyright control. If you created it you own it — and you have the opportunity to charge others for using it. If the corporates are that big and strong, let them create their own pools.

It reminds me of the story of the scientists who decided to send one of their number to tell God they didn’t need him anymore; man was quite capable of creating life without God’s influence.

"Okay," said God. "Let’s have a competition. Each of us has to create a man from scratch."

"That’s fair," replied the scientist, as he bent down to pick up a handful of dirt to begin the task.

"Oh, no," said God. "Go get your own dirt."
