I tipped this
December Draw’s Caulfield Cup failure was not at all surprising. I didn’t think he could possibly win.
There was a lot of wrong analysis around that horse, For instance, he was pitchforked into the Turnbull but everybody said he was dropping in weight for the Caulfield Cup. That is shocking for the third-biggest industry in the country.
Anyhow the Colonial mare beat the myths again.
Oddly enough my main bet was Green Moon — weak as water, unless he was underdone (too many Crownies at the casino).
As for these overseas trainers, Aidan O’Brien for mine is way behind Walla Walla country. He can never get back after his Melbourne Cup of a few years ago.
Why don’t you blokes nominate Bart for a knighthood? Her Majesty, with her knowledge and love of racing, would have a gleam in her eye for that one I would think.
