Horse Eye?

I have watched a number of protest hearings recently and I cannot believe we still are relying on the belief or opinion of the stewards to determine the results.

You can wach the cricket and the tennis and they use technology to determine if balls are going to hit the wicket or go out or in, using technology where a computer can determine the trajectory of the ball. In each case the balls are moving well in excess of 120km per hour.

With the right camera technology surely we can work out what time a horse would cross the line without interference and going straight, as opposed to the horse causing the interference.

Admittedly this will not be always be useful, for example when interference occurs early in the race.

As an owner who recently had a protest dismissed, I think the time is here for racing stewards to get a little more assistance than front, back and side on views and the testimony of understandably biased participants.
