Absolute rubbish
Mr Barnett’s letter (12/5) branding the English hypocrites and tarnishing one of Australia’s top jockeys in Luke Nolen is absolute rubbish.
Like most top Australian jockeys and like his peers before him, Luke could hold his own in any country in the world.
And Mr Barnett, in looking for unfairness, should look no further than his own country — for example the treatment of Flashy Fella in the WA Derby by the Perth jockeys and the relegation of He’s Remarkable in the Railway Stakes by the Ascot stewards.
There is plenty of unfairness here in Australia before we have to look overseas and whip out that old chestnut, Pommie bashing.
