Get back

Your reader Michael Barton (7/7) referred to my "What I’ve Learned" segment on TVN’s insightful, incredibly humorous, cutting-edge, top-rating Thursday night weekend racing preview show Get On.

(For sake of clarity, every adjective above has been added by me. Mr Barton just wrote: "On Get On recently …")

Anyway, he asserted that my segment, which focused on So You Think’s on-pace Royal Ascot win, and concluded with me saying, "Maybe Bart Cummings knows what he’s talking about," was presented with "a sense of self-assurance that was only matched by the almost complete lack of substance supporting anything he said".

After extensive and heated discussions with lawyers, barristers, solicitors, QCs and Supreme Court judges, each and every one of them agreed on viewing the segment that it wasn’t one of my better moments on the show (like tipping monster-priced winners that modesty nearly prevents me from mentioning such as Hurtle Myrtle, Festina Lente, City of Song, Turner Bayou, Swooper and Empress Rock to casually name six at double-figure odds). As such, not only should I not think of taking legal action against Mr Barton or the Winning Post, but I should consider myself lucky that I’m allowed back on the show.

So after a four-week freshen-up, Get On returns next Thursday, and hopefully we’re again "headwobbling" after tipping the viewers some nice fixed-odds when the markets first open!
