All too easy

It’s easy to be clever with hindsight but the San Domenico was a great example of the incredibly obvious (before the race) going unnoticed due to ludicrous Sydney hype — and testicles!

All Too Hard is a good and valuable colt but frankly his runs have been more Group 2 level than deserving of any "superstar" billing, and he’s only bred for 1400 metres (Cox Plate?).

Snitzerland got 1.5 lengths closer to Pierro than All Too Hard, running him to a half-neck in the Golden Slipper, whereas All Too Hard was easily beaten by a vulnerable Pierro in the lesser Sires’.

Moreover, Snitzerland effectively met All Too Hard 1.0kg better for their respective efforts.

Snitzerland had gone much closer to Pierro in a higher-class race than the race All Too Hard was easily beaten in.

Ratings? It was jibberish to rate All Too Hard within 2.0kg of Snitzerland (who won easily), let alone ahead of her.

Given he has testicles (stallion hype) he, like another "superstar" in Smart Missile (beaten twice from two attempts in Group 1 races by Manawanui, a gelding), will almost certainly always be overrated, overhyped.

As a good rule of thumb, if it’s well bred and has testicles, punters never get overs.

Is All Too Hard set for a career that, like Smart Missile’s, becomes an excuse-a-thon?
