Discrimination or dishonesty?
I have written on this subject before but I believe it is important to get some answers.
Every Friday the internet is buzzing with stories of big bets taken by the corporates — bets of $50,000, $20,000 and so on.
Meanwhile, punters including myself and many others are barred from betting altogether or their bets are restricted (in my case to win no more than $1000).
Who are these big punters? Are they consistent losers? Or do they even exist? If not, the public is being misled.
This subject recently featured in a column by the well known (non-racing) journalist Peter Fitzsimons, so the problem must be widespread.
I think the regulators should demand some answers from the bookmakers as to this apparent discrimination.
