On Sunday January 6, I attended the Kilmore race meeting to saddle up for my boss, Team Hawkes. I brought my son, daughter and my son’s friends with me as well as my partner.
Sometimes when attending these meetings, especially during the school holidays, there is nothing for the kids to do.
But on this occasion the kids were presented with a free racing showbag on entering, then on arrival at the top of the straight found a carnival going on. Mini golf, jumping castles and tug-of-war were some of the many activities for the kids, all at no cost to us.
We only stayed for the first five races but the kids had a great day out.
Thank you, Kilmore Racing Club. I believe it was all to do with Kilmore Hospital’s kids’ day out, but whoever was responsible for organising it, give yourself a pat on the back. Best day at the races for years.
