Quaddie quandaries

I am a multi/flexi quaddie punter and enjoy the challenge of attempting to collect a big dividend from little investments.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why in the 21st century we cannot simply tick a box marked R, I or S box, representing "refund", "increase of percentage", or "sub", for the consequence of one of our selections being a late scratching. After all it would be a simple computer programming alteration for the paying dividend.

Secondly, the TABs’ policy on quaddie special dividends needs explaining.

Why is it I can have a $10 flexi quaddie, have the first two legs win and then if the races are abandoned in some cases I receive only a portion of my stake back — as little as 20 per cent? (Case in point — Kilmore on September 16).

Surely if only one or two legs are raced it would be simpler and kinder to the punters if TABs refunded live quaddie bets where the dividend is less than the stake?

This would please most punters and still give the TABs losing bets as their percentage.
