Sister's six

Adrian Dunn’s column (21/12) featured female jockeys riding winners in a bunch. He mentioned a recent Stawell meeting and another there in 2011.
But he didn’t mention Warracknabeal Cup day 1994, when  women rode the first seven winners on a nine-race card. Therese Payne rode four, her sister Maree a double and Christine Puls one. They were well in the market, with 6/1 ($7) being the longest price.
The Cup was taken out by the grand old galloper Wozdac Hill, trained by Sue Jaensch and ridden by Therese Payne, which was topweight and 9/2 favourite.
