No thanks, chief
Richard Callander has suggested racing would be doing itself a favour by finding a role for outgoing AFL chief Andrew Demetriou (8/3).
I disagree. I do not think racing should get entangled with this green agenda, involving as it does recycling (turning Demetriou into a racing official), and sustainability (sustaining Demetriou’s working life).
If Richard is that concerned about Demetriou’s future, then perhaps he could put in a good word with, say, a city council. After all, councils are actively involved with recycling and sustainability … not the racing industry.
