Racing is an industry where narks, knockers and naysayers abound. So it’s remarkable and particularly sad that in Australia this year we have lost two men in Roy Higgins and Guy Walter about whom no one had a bad word to say.

That these gentlemen managed to rise to the very top of their profession disproves once and for all the glib American cliché that tells us nice guys finish last.
