Bush benefits
I just wanted to put across a point in Your Say about the virtues of small country race meets and the advantages of the flow-on effects that they provide the small communities they represent.
As secretary of the Ensay Bush Nursing Centre, I witness first hand the generous donations that are given to the Swifts Creek and Ensay Bush Nursing Centres after the Tambo Valley Racing Club’s annual race meeting on Easter Sunday.
Over the years we have received some very sizable donations from this club, including the latest donation of $5000 between the two Bush Nursing Centres, which in turn enable us to be able to pass on the advantages to our community through the purchase and upgrading of medical equipment.
This annual event provides not only a great family fun day for all but is instrumental in helping these small communities where money is always tight.
Well done, Tambo Valley Racing Club and Racing Victoria.
