Is it just me, or are there other people out there in racing land who, when they hear someone from TAB fixed odds get on the radio or TV announce that they’ve taken bets of $35,000, $25,000 and $20,000 on a horse, think it’s self-serving nonsense?
I have been in the TAB when someone has asked for $1000 at $1.50 over the counter on a tennis match, only to be knocked back, when the TAB manager rang through the bet.
The comment that came back from fixed odds was that it was a big bet.
True story. Go figure.
