Endless love

As a small-time mug punter, if I had the time and money I would go to the track every Saturday. It’s a love affair that will endure time.
Recently my community racing radio channel has divorced me and TVN is soon to split from me. There is no consolation in the fact it is them and not me.
On Saturday I visited my old faithful — the track. The $5 Guinness on offer at Randwick was like the bunch of flowers you pick up from the service station on the way home from work. They were beautiful, cost you about half as much as others and yet they still got the job done. It was a masterstroke by the ATC.
Unfortunately, my love was left waiting due to the queue for the gents between races and my interstate fantasy was lost.
The ratio of urinals to wash basins per square metre was undoubtedly formulated with a software package and not common sense.
Nonetheless, I left the track satisfied my old-time love had got better with her recent uplift and enhancements. The pheromone of the new grandstand will lure me back for more.
