Delayed parade

John Tutty (18/4) is correct when he says Racing Victoria is well ahead of most states. By a long way.
Paul Connors (18/4) is certainly correct when he says a person must lose when following a tipster who tips in every race. I was watching Sky (reluctantly) when their main tipster, who is treated like a racing guru, gave tips in Melbourne, Sydney and Ipswich. 24 races!
It’s impossible for one tipster to study the form of around 300 horses for one day’s racing.
As it turns out he picked two winners out of three states’ racing.
He could have done better picking cute names or colours.
That is the problem with Sky Channel. At least with TVN’s Early Mail one tipster in each state would analyse three races and tip accordingly, with amazing success.
Another problem with Sky Channel is that on TVN, the mounting yard coverage in Melbourne was live.
As they analysed each horse a commentator might give an insight into the horse or I might have liked the look of it, and I may then bet on it.
Now on Sky 521 the Victorian mounting-yard coverage is prerecorded.
So while you’re watching the mounting yard the horses are actually being loaded into the barriers. There’s no time to put a bet on.
Victorian racing is so important to the punter that Sky should look after it better. It would only benefit the NSW TAB and therefore Sky.
