Put down your glasses

What a magnificent campaign it’s been by the Grant Williams-trained WA filly Delicacy — six straight wins including four long-distance classics, two at Group 1 level.
I only hope that eastern-seaboard bias doesn’t prevent Delicacy being named Australia’s three-year-old filly of the year.
No other filly in the age group this season has won more than one Group 1, and no filly has beaten the boys in a group-level classic (let alone two).
I hope the judges note Delicacy’s clear Schweppes Oaks defeat of Fenway, conqueror of First Seal and Set Square in the Vinery. Gust of Wind, the only other candidate, was just out of Class 1 when she won the ATC Oaks in the wet.
