On Saturday August 8 I ventured to the Horsham Tabaret to place a jockey-challenge bet, which is quite the norm for me.
Michelle Payne had three reasonable mounts at Morphettville , so I asked the operator for $20 on my selection.
She replied that only $3 was available at the advertised fixed odds of $15.
After my request to have another operator check that information, that operator confirmed that Payne now had firmed into $12 — there was no longer the option for me to place the grand sum of $3, had I so desired.
I placed the $20 at $12, but vowed never to take such a bet style ever again.
You guessed it — just one more disgruntled punter!
