This one crops up from time to time and I have to say, the person (or persons) responsible would be lining up at Centrelink if I was pulling the strings.
I’m talking about the times for the Saturday races at the main four venues. The races have got to be 10 minutes apart — it’s easier for everyone involved, on track and off.
What did we get served up on Saturday May 7?
As an example, 4.20pm Gold Coast, 4.25 Flemington, 4.30 Adelaide.
This was going on most of the day and TABs must have missed out on big dollars from punters who either couldn’t get on or were still waiting for winnings to be cleared.
In 2016 this is very amateurish.
It seems to me that Newcastle got preference, which is totally wrong.
I don’t know who sets the times — is it Sky Channel? — but this must never happen again.
