Get it right

I cannot understand why everyone mispronounces the name of the racehorse Refulgent. Even Greg Miles offends.
“Refulgent”, a word meaning “shining very brightly”, rhymes with “indulgent”.
I can only assume that the ownres of the horse wish to have the name mispronounced.
There was a previous Refulgent many years ago, which raced in Queensland.
He was a higher quality horse than the present Refulgent, winning 13 races including six principal races, among them the 1960 Queensland Sires’ Produce.
Queensland race callers of that time pronounced the name correctly.
There is nothing “full” about Refulgent.
