In it to win it

Assuming Geoff Chapman of the Gold Coast is the former successful trainer, I’d be reluctant to argue any of his thoughts on champion female thoroughbreds and the heights they rise to.
But I’d suggest one thing that contributes to any dominance is that once a young male entire shows any sort of ability, wins a Magic Millions, Slipper or Guineas, it’s “whoosh” — off they go to stud, where with a full book they can earn many times over what they might do slogging it out on the track. And how often are the offspring of champion mares unsuccessful on the track?
So, managed the right way, aimed at the high-stakes weight-for-age events and with the luck all runners need, no wonder the mares get their share.
All I can say is, “Go, girls.”
