Letter of the Week

Heard it all before

Calls for trainers and now an owner to have their runners capped, due to a perceived — if usually short-lived — dominance are tired and boring.
I recall, on these very pages, at varying stages over the last decade pleas for Waterhouse, Waller and Weir to have their numbers limited.
Now we have moved on to Lloyd Williams. The same Lloyd Williams that the same people poked fun at for close to two decades for throwing so much money at our greatest staying race for just the two wins — early in the 1980s.
