Those who fail to abide by the well established rules of thoroughbred racing are motivated by one thing only — sheer greed. Rarely need.
I wish to see Racing Victoria come down like the proverbial ton of bricks on such people — household names included.
Their actions, if proven, have tainted the image of the local racing product, in the eyes of the racing fraternity specifically and the broader community generally.
More importantly, once the gambling public loses confidence in the integrity of the code, turnover will begin to fall, with potentially calamitous consequences for the future funding of the industry.
No quarter for these monumentally self-obsessed people.
