Bred to excel
Young Clayton Douglas is rapisly becoming a very good jockey, both over the jumps and on the flat.
If ever a boy was born to be a jockey it surely is young Clayton. He comes from a family that is immerseed in racing bloodlines.
His grandpa was Vic Douglas, great jumps rider and very astute trainer.
His dad, Victor, rode at the picnics and has trained three Grand Annual winners.
His uncle Ray (Razor) Douglas was the youngest jockey ever to win the Victorian picnic jockey premiership, and arguably the best picnic rider ever.
Another uncle, Rod (Rocket) Douglas was a good trainer before becoming racing manager for Jon Munz.
Clayton reminds me of Jamie Mott, who also rides in both disciplines.
I have watched Clayton very closely over the past few months, and I think he has a great career in front of him.
Good luck!
