Arc up

Once again, the Arc at Longchamp provided a stunning finish.
Reigning champion Enable, a four-year-old mare, deserved her win, a remarkable achievement considering her inadequate preparation (11 months off due to lameness, having only one run on a synthetic track in England last month, which she won).
But the run of the race was undoubtedly the sensational superstar three-year-old filly Sea of Class. Twenty lengths last entering the straight, she expertly navigated the traffic and stormed home on top of them to finish a half-head second.
I’m now convinced a seven-year-old Winx couldn’t have beaten Enable and Sea of Class at the 2400 metres.
