I was flicking through the National Geographic channels on TV recently and came across an interesting program about horses that have been cloned for use in polo.
A wealthy polo enthusiast named Webber and the top Argentinian player have cloned their top polo horses and now have 200 steeds resulting from such clonings.
They look exactly like the horses they are cloned with, save some slight colour variations.
Like other people I guess I wonder how long before someone clones a top racing thoroughbred.
This cannot happen under the rigorous protocols now in force in thoroughbred breeding — which ban even artificial insemination, a common practice with most animal breeds — but, as they say, never say never.
