Drain the swamp

Mudlarks used to be sent south to find wet tracks.
Maybe Sydney could learn from Melbourne racecourse rebuilds when it comes to drainage and turf mix?
Otherwise, no matter how massive the prizemoney, owners of good dry-trackers might just go south, rather than risk setting their horse for races where wet weather can ruin any chance.
Most people wish Randwick and Rosehill handled rain like Flemington and Caulfield. Mind you, maybe a few Victorian club bean counters don’t mind that much?
