How amazing that last Saturday week at Flemington Jamie Kah completed the 100/1 quadrella of female jockeys in Flemington Group 1s, winning on Gatting in the Makybe Diva Stakes.
It all started with Nikita Berriman winning on Tears I Cry at 100/1 in the 2007 Emirates Stakes, followed by Clare Lindop on 100/1 Victoria Derby winner Rebel Raider in 2008, then Michelle Payne aboard Prince of Penzance at 100/1 in the Melbourne Cup of 2015.
And all at fabulous Flemington. Pretty amazing I think and maybe VRC chair Amanda Elliott and her team can use these achievements to celebrate and highlight our great spring carnival racing.
