No chance, no bet

The powers that be just don’t get it on the recent disqualification of Excelman over Michael Walker weighing in light. Punters’ beef is not with the jockey, rather the system.
What we want to happen is for the TAB to give up the free bonuses they get when DQs occur two or three times a year. They have no right to retain investments on a horse that had no possible chance.
In this instance it really hurt as it was the first leg of the quaddie, so it was a double whammy for those punters who copped the sub, which of course did not run second. Murphy’s law would dictate that.
Don’t kid to punters. We nearly always cop the raw end of the pineapple in these cases, which have been occurring since Adam met Eve.
Perhaps we need it to happen to a Winx or Black Caviar. Then the hullabaloo might be enough for the powers to back down. Can you imagine the bad press if they didn’t?
