Ladder leaders

With racing approaching the half-way mark of the season in Australia, the jockey premiership ladders make for interesting “viewing”.
We have a South Australian (Jamie Kah), leading the way in Victoria, a Kiwi (James McDonald) in front in Sydney, a Victorian (Ryan Maloney) out to a big lead in Brisbane and another Victorian (Jessica Eaton) on top in Adelaide.
Eaton’s performance to date is particularly impressive as she is fairly new to SA and she has a lead over last year’s outstanding premier rider in Todd Pannell.
McDonald has a big job on his hands staying in front of my favourite hoop Tommy Berry in Sydney but he has the right support to do so.
Ryan Maloney made the best move of his career shifting to Qld a few years ago. He hasn’t looked back and it’s hard to see him getting beaten for the 2020-21 title. Good on him.
