Women of substance

What an amazing achievement by Jamie Kah, being the first female jockey to win the Doncaster Handicap.
I reckon, however, even she would take her helmet off to Irish jockey Rachael Blackmore, for accomplishing an even greater and more significant achievement hours later — becoming the first female jockey to win the world’s most gruelling steeplechase, the iconic Grand National at the UK’s Aintree racecourse.
Blackmore’s win was a testament to great horsemanship and the quality of her mount, Minella Times, jumping 30 testing fences over 6907 metres.
Congratulations to Kah and Blackmore.
