Popped into Caulfield last Saturday amid the pouring rain for an up-close view of Still A Star, with hopes of seeing her first Melbourne win.
As it turns out she didn’t need the “Go, Minnie!” encouragement we screamed, delivering a solid win and adding another milestone chapter to her inspiring story.
You don’t need to be a superstar like Winx to draw people to the track, just a horse with heart and a story we all want to see with a happy ending.
Well done to Bill Ryan and her connections. May she bring you, and punters with a soft spot for the battlers, more joy in the spring.
