I have to admit, I have the best days on the punt when the horses I follow are running, running well, and winning at decent odds. Think Santa Ana Lane.
However, outside of that, I find the trick to good punting days is how quickly you can find out what kind of day it is.
Is it a “Horses Names Have Personal Meaning” day? Is it a “Favourite Always Wins” day? Is it a “Numbers” day? You know, those days when the numbers of two of the trifecta horses equal the third. Think 1-4-5 or 3-12-9”. Once you take notice of it you can’t stop noticing it. Invariably, it always turns into some kind of “day”. I bet other punters have their list of “days”.
