I have never doubted that a very big part of Takeover Target’s success was because of Joe Janiak’s tender loving care.
I’m therefore hoping that with Joe going to WA (where Takeover Target will lead out the Winterbottom field this Saturday), he might either buy Hay List or have a good long talk to that horse’s trainer.
Hay List has done some remarkable things but his program is all over the place. Perhaps sanity will prevail and give us a great horse.
On another topic, Rick McIntosh said the other day he didn’t know why they ever put maidens in quaddies. Neither do I. Surely all these wonderful club secretaries would have the sense to know a lot of people won’t bet on maiden races and just take a minute or two to program for the punter.
