National pride
By Winning Post, July 5, 2015 - 11:08 AM

Cranbourne trainer Tony Rosolini and jockey Darryl Horner junior sprang a surprise last month when Zuhayr (pictured) got up to win the Drechsler Hurdle at Bendigo, swamping the favourite, Fieldmaster, at the final obstacle.

Greater glory awaits at Warrnambool this Sunday, where Zuhayr will tackle the $200,000 Grand National Hurdle on action-packed program also featuring the $100,000 Crisp Steeple.

Can he do it again? Tony Kneebone's preview will kick off this week's Winning Post.

Before then, there's action aplenty on Saturday, particularly at Flemington for finals day. The time-honoured Winter Championship is among a stack of series to be decided at Victorian racing HQ and our full-colour 12-page liftout guide is the one you need to find all the winners.

Our form coverage kicks off on Friday with full form guides for Geelong and Wagga, plus fields, colours and tips for Gunnedah and Ipswich.

The metro racing this Saturday is at Flemington in Melbourne, Randwick in Sydney, Gawler in SA, Doomben in Brisbane and Belmont in Perth.

Winning Post carries full-colour liftout guides for all those meetings plus Newcastle (NSW edition) and Gold Coast (Queensland edition), as well as fields, tips, ratings and/or colours for other TAB Saturday cards.

On Sunday we've got liftout formguides for four more TAB meetings including Grand National day at the Bool and Maclean Cup day at Grafton, plus fields, ratings, tips and colours for a stack more Sunday and Monday programs.

Don't forget Winning Post now carries trackwork reports for all four Melbourne training tracks, all three in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide and a general Brisbane report.

Away from the form, we've got news columns from Queensland, NSW, six Victorian districts, SA and Tasmania.

Our readers have their say on page 4, while Richard Callander has the inside mail from Sydney and Shane Templeton reminisces on page 5. Further back in the book Paul Richards presents his unique take on the sport and Tony Kneebone delivers his lively Snippets column.

Winning Post costs $5 and is available Thursday afternoon in selected Melbourne newsagents, the crack of dawn Friday elsewhere.
