In Gust we trust
By Winning Post, August 2, 2015 - 12:20 PM

It's early in the new season but already some of the better horses are starting to step out, and this Saturday one of those will be multiple Group 1 winner Trust in a Gust, who tackles the Aurie's Star Handicap at Flemington.

Some handy sprinters will also be at Randwick for the Missile Stakes, and the new-season three-year-olds begin the road to the Golden Rose when they face off in the Rosebud.

In Adelaide the race-hardened winter sprinters tackle the returning weight-for-agers in the Spring Stakes, while in Perth it's Belmont Newmarket day.

Tony Kneebone's Aurie's Star tip will lead this week's Winning Post, and our new Early Post and Weekend Specials pages will offer punting value around the country.

Our form coverage kicks off on Friday with full form guides for Racing.com Park and Wyong, plus fields, colours and tips for Wagga and Ipswich.

The metro racing this Saturday is at Flemington in Melbourne, Randwick in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide, Doomben in Brisbane and Belmont in Perth.

Winning Post carries full-colour liftout guides for all those meetings plus Newcastle (except Queensland) and Gold Coast (Queensland edition), as well as fields, tips, ratings and/or colours for other TAB Saturday cards.

On Sunday we've got liftout formguides for four more TAB meetings including Grand National Steeple day at Sportsbet-Ballarat plus fields, ratings, tips and colours for a stack more Sunday and Monday programs.

Don't forget Winning Post now carries trackwork reports for all four Melbourne training tracks, all three in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide and a general Brisbane report.

Away from the form, we've got news columns from Queensland, NSW, six Victorian districts, SA and Tasmania.

Our readers have their say on page 4, while Richard Callander has the inside mail from Sydney and Shane Templeton reminisces on page 5. Further back in the book Paul Richards presents his unique take on the sport and Tony Kneebone delivers his lively Snippets column.

Winning Post costs $5 and is available Thursday afternoon in selected Melbourne newsagents, the crack of dawn Friday elsewhere.
