Press to go
By Winning Post, October 4, 2015 - 8:00 AM

Melbourne's spring carnival officially kicks off at Caulfield this Saturday, and what a cracker we've got first up.

The Caulfield Guineas, where the Chris Waller-trained Press Statement looks hard to beat, heads a quality-packed quadruple Group 1 program.

The fillies face off in the Thousand Guineas, the milers match motors in the Toorak and the Cox Plate candidates duke it out in the Caulfield Stakes.

Meanwhile at Randwick, the staying three-year-olds have their grand final (or final derby prep) in the Spring Champion.

Tony Kneebone's Guineas tip will lead this week's Winning Post and our 16-page full-colour Caulfield form guide is the one you need to find all the winners.

Our coverage kicks off  on Friday with full form guides for Cranbourne's Pinker Pinker Plate night meeting, day meetings at Hamilton and Taree plus fields, colours and tips for Bathurst and Ipswich.

The metro racing this Saturday is at Caulfield in Melbourne, Randwick in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide, Doomben in Brisbane and Belmont in Perth.

Winning Post carries full-colour liftout guides for all those meetings plus Racing.com Park (Vic/SA/Tas edition), Kembla Grange (NSW editon) and Gold Coast (Queensland edition), as well as fields, tips, ratings and/or colours for other TAB Saturday cards.

On Sunday we've got liftout formguides for four more TAB meetings including Cranbourne Cup day and Coonamble Cup day plus fields, ratings, tips and colours for a stack more Sunday and Monday programs.

Don't forget Winning Post now carries trackwork reports for all four Melbourne training tracks, all three in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide and a general Brisbane report.

Away from the form, we've got news columns from Queensland, NSW, six Victorian districts, SA and Tasmania.

Our readers have their say on page 4, while further back in the book Shane Templeton reminisces, Tony Kneebone presents his lively Snippets column, Paul Richards presents his unique take on the sport and our new column, Number Cruncher, delivers the stats that matter.

Winning Post costs $5 and is available Thursday afternoon in selected Melbourne newsagents, the crack of dawn Friday elsewhere.
