Tavago no mug
By Winning Post, March 19, 2017 - 8:27 AM

As the Rosehill carnival concludes, the build-up to the Championships continues this Saturday with the running of The BMW, the Vinery Stud Stakes and a handful more key Championships lead-ups.

In The BMW, 2016 Australian Derby winner Tavago (pictured) will be looking to build on his super-impressive recent win in the Sky High Stakes.

Can he keep expat Kiwi trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young on a roll? Joel Marshall's Rosehill preview will lead this week's Winning Post.

Elsewhere, the final Group 1 of the Melbourne autumn, the William Reid Stakes, will be run on Friday night at the Valley, while the Saturday metro action is at Mornington for the Mornington Cup and Hareeba Stakes.

Our form coverage kicks off on Friday with full form guides for the Moonee Valley night meeting, plus the daytime action at Albury (cup day) and Terang as well as fields, colours and selections for Taree, Townsville and the Sunshine Coast.

The metro racing this Saturday is at Mornington in Melbourne, Rosehill in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide, Doomben in Brisbane and Ascot in Perth.

Winning Post carries full-colour liftout guides for all those meetings plus Benalla (Vic/SA/Tas edition), Newcastle (NSW edition) and Gold Coast Queensland edition), as well as fields, tips, ratings and/or colours for other TAB Saturday cards.

On Sunday we've got liftout formguides for four more TAB meetings, plus fields, ratings, tips and colours for a stack more Sunday and Monday programs, including fields and cup form for Morphettville.

Don't forget Winning Post now carries trackwork reports for all four Melbourne training tracks, all three in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide and a general Brisbane report.

Away from the form, we've got news columns from Queensland, NSW, six Victorian districts, SA and Tasmania.

Our readers have their say on page 6, while elsewhere in the paper Shane Templeton reminisces, Paul Richards presents his unique take on the sport, Tony Kneebone brings you his Snippets column and Number Cruncher delivers the stats that matter.

Winning Post costs $5 and is available Thursday afternoon in selected Melbourne newsagents, the crack of dawn Friday elsewhere.
