Newcastle trainer Kris Lees has placed his lightly raced five-year-old Clearly Innocent to perfection, notching eight wins from 14 starts including the 2016 Country Championship Final and two successive editions of the Luskin Star Stakes at Scone.

The Not a Single Doubt gelding has amassed more than $600,000 in prizemoney despite having had only six starts (for one win) in town.

He can take his bank past $1 million on Saturday, but he'll need to step right up in class for Australia's newest Group 1 race, the Kingsford-Smith Cup (1300m) at Eagle Farm.
