SA: Terry towels them
By Peter Neall, July 25, 2017 - 11:22 AM

Victorian youngster Terry could have a productive spring ahead after he took out the listed Oakland Plate (1400m) for two-year-olds on the Parks track at Morphettville last Saturday.
The son of Trusting, prepared at Mornington by David Brideoake, started $3.50 favourite and came from a rearward position to win convincingly by a neck, taking his record to two wins from two starts.
Brideoake will prepare the colt for a series of black-type three-year-old races in the coming season.
The win of Terry gave rider Matthew Neilson the second leg of a double.
Earlier, Neilson joined forces with local trainer Ryan Balfour, bringing Jet Express ($21) from worse than midfield to win the benchmark 70 Letcher Moroney Accountants Handicap (1550m).
Balfour himself went on to complete a double when Spiritof Endeavour ($3.80 favourite) came from midfield to gave Jamie Kah her 499th career win in the benchmark 70 Hughes Limousines Handicap (1550m).
A couple for Clark
Apprentice Raquel Cark extended her recent run of success with a bookend double at the Parks meeting, kicking off with the Patrick Payne-trained $4 equal favourite Alamonteel in the opener, the benchmark 75 James Boag’s Handicap (1950m).
Clark completed her double when she guided Justify That ($11) to his 13th win from 84 starts in the benchmark 75 Schweppes Handicap (1400m).
Prepared at Strathalbyn by Peter Moody, Justify That has now won eight 1400-metre races on the Parks track. Saturday’s win pushed his stake earnings past $500,000.
Fresh Enzo makes Lloyd’s day
Locally based Lloyd Kennewell shared the training honours with Ryan Balfour at the Parks meeting, landing the first of back-to-back winners when Gold Denari ($10) came from better than midfield to win the benchmark 70 UBET Handicap of 1250 metres under Jake Toeroek.
Kennewell brought up his double when Enzo the Barber ($12) came from a rearward position to win the benchmark 64 Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (1000m).
Enzo was first up from a spell as was jockey Joe Bowditch, recently returned from holiday.
On the subject of the Kennewell stable, Kennewell’s apprentice Zac Spain started a three-month loan period last week for the Cranbourne training duo of Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young. He had his first ride for the stable at last Thursday’s Sale fixture.
Spain has notched 34 winners in SA, eight of them in the city.
A pair for Pannell
Todd Pannell was the star of last Sunday’s Port Augusta meeting, landing a double on The Moshire and Onward.
Pannell was also in the winner’s stall at Morphettville Parks the day before, steering Sudden Wealth ($5) to victory in the benchmark 70 Holdfast Insurance Handicap (1250m).
Sudden Wealth was the 100th winner for local trainer Will Clarken.
