Yes, it's Slipper day
By Winning Post, March 17, 2019 - 7:54 AM

Darren Weir's disqualification saw plenty of trainers get unexpected bonuses, none bigger than Rubick colt Yes Yes Yes, who'll represent Chris Waller in Saturday's Golden Slipper.

Yes Yes Yes was a convincing winner of the Todman Stakes, often a good Slipper guide, but he'll have plenty of stiff opposition in a typically wide-open Slipper.

The Slipper heads one of the best days on the Australian racing calendar, with the five-pronged Group 1 line-up also featuring Winx in the George Ryder and The Autumn Sun in the Rosehill Guineas.

Further south, Friday night sees Group 1 action at The Valley for the William Reid Stakes then it's Mornington Cup day, with a Caulfield Cup ticket on offer for the winner.

Our form coverage kicks off on Friday with full form guides for The Valley night meeting, plus Terang and Albury during the day, as well as fields, colours and selections for Friday's other TAB meetings.

The metro racing this Saturday is at Mornington in Melbourne, Rosehill in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide, Eagle Farm in Brisbane and Ascot in Perth.

Winning Post carries full-colour liftout guides for all those meetings plus Avoca (Vic/SA/Tas edition), Kembla Grange (NSW edition) and Gold Coast (Queensland edition), as well as fields, tips, ratings and/or colours for other TAB Saturday cards.

On Sunday we've got liftout formguides for four TAB meetings including Country Championship Qualifier day at Muswellbrook. Plus we've got fields, ratings, tips and colours for a stack more Sunday and Monday programs.

Don't forget Winning Post now carries trackwork reports for all four Melbourne training tracks, all three in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide and a general Brisbane report.

Away from the form, we've got news columns from Queensland, NSW, six Victorian districts, SA and Tasmania.

Our readers have their say on page 4, while further back in the book Shane Templeton reminisces, Paul Richards presents his unique take on the sport, Tony Kneebone brings you his Snippets column and Number Cruncher delivers the stats that matter.

Winning Post costs $5 and is available Thursday afternoon in selected Ballarat newsagents, the crack of dawn Friday elsewhere.
