Ava good weekend
By Winning Post, July 18, 2021 - 8:27 AM

This week's Winning Post is now available online here.

Southern Australia may still be in the grip of winter, but the first green shoots of spring are starting to appear on the racetrack.

The top-class horses are starting to reappear, and this Saturday's Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes sees the reappearance of dual Group 1 winner Streets of Avalon.

The gelding resumed in the same race last year, running second to Viridine, and trainer Shane Nichols is hoping to get him past the $2 million prizemoney mark this campaign.

Elsewehere it's Winter Challenge day at Rosehill, and the two-day (Friday-Saturday) Mildura Cup carnival is another highlight of this weekend's racing.

Our form coverage kicks off on Friday with full form guides for two meetings, as well as fields, colours and selections for Friday's other TAB meetings.

The metro racing this Saturday is at Caulfield in Melbourne, Rosehill in Sydney, Morphettville in SA, Doomben in Brisbane and Belmont in Perth.

Winning Post carries full-colour liftout guides for all those meetings plus bet365 Mildura (Vic/SA edition), Gosford (NSW edition) and Gold Coast (Queensland edition), as well as fields, tips, ratings and/or colours for other TAB Saturday cards.

On Sunday we've got liftout formguides for three more TAB meetings (plus Hobart in the Tas edition) as well as fields, ratings, tips and colours for a stack more Sunday and Monday programs.

Don't forget Winning Post now carries trackwork reports for all four Melbourne training tracks, all three in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide and a general Brisbane report.

Away from the form, we've got news columns from NSW, six Victorian districts, SA and Tasmania.

Our readers have their say on page 4, while further back in the book Shane Templeton reminisces, Paul Richards presents his unique take on the sport, Tony Kneebone brings you his Snippets column and Number Cruncher delivers the stats that matter.

Winning Post costs $5.50 and is available Thursday afternoon online, the crack of dawn Friday in shops.
