Meanwhile the Sydney carnival clicks up a gear with the running of the Epsom, Metropolitan and Flight at Randwick, and it's Kalgoorlie Cup day in the west.

On Sunday the Cootamundra Cup is among the highlights in the build-up to the NRL grand final.
